This year's Smallworld Nordic User Conference took place in Copenhagen on Oct 27-28th at Bella Sky. Our customers and partners expressed their joy at expanding insights, ideas and relations at the event.

‍

The key-note was very well received by the audience

‍

Our CEO Øyvind Berntsen opened the conference, followed by an truly actual and illuminating key-note from Jan Lemnitzer on cyber resilience, NIS2 implementation and digital sovereignty. Glenn Smethurst and Salvador Peya followed up with important updates on the latest developments in GE Vernova's Smallworld Network Inventory portfolio, covering platform modernisations and new features in version 6, AI initiatives, and much more.

In the Get it Right session, Ragnar Larnøy explained good practice when working with spec's and templates, John Leeuwenburg presented Realworld's new and innovative Smartguide AI-powered help function for Smallworld, and Daniel Simonsen shared our experience from installing and running the Realworld Diagnostics performance and user analysis tool at two initial customers.

Teambuilding at Skyward Masters Showroom

‍

To help us break out of the usual conference setting, Daniel Knudsen at Trinor Entertainment invited us to play Skyward Masters in their showroom. We divided the participants into 12 teams, playing four teams at a time. The engagement and energy was impeccable, and the winning team each won a LEGO Star Wars Clone Shock Trooper, see the image below.

‍

The winners at Skyward Masters were Bodgan, Jüri, Nina and Kenneth

‍

The last session of day one, Sharing the Goods, contained Spatial Eye's versatile Geo-Spatial Analytics and Warehouse solutions by Oscar Custers and Gijsbert Noordam, and streamlined, standard and secure integrations to Smallworld by Ronny Solvang. In the evening, the reception, conference dinner and the subsequent relaxing atmosphere at the 23rd floor sky bar offered plenty of space for valuable networking and conversations.

The conference dinner

‍

After an early morning walk or run for some, day two of the conference opened with an Out in the Field-session where Colin Waterworth took us through a Visual Intelligence self-healing invetory use case and Kenneth Damholt and Cecilia Suzuki outlined the latest developments and roadmap for Smallworld Nordic's web-based field client Light6.

‍

The next session, The Broader Picture, included CROSS Network Intelligence's extensive data consolidation capabilities by Radim Just and Pavel Fiala, and Realworld's Observability platform detecting downtime in time by Bogdan Hebean. Furthermore, the Assets in Motion session brought insight into Sinal's large scale on-boarding of the customers in the acquired EWII fiber network by Kell Bergmann, and Lars Morten Moe guided us through data migration project executions for obtaining successful results. Finally, Øyvind summarised the conference and highlighted Smallworld Nordic's stategic focus areas going forward.

‍

The demo booths attracted great interest

‍

The demo booths were very popular, providing in-depth insights into GE Vernova's Smallworld Network Inventory, including Nordic modules, Light6 from Smallworld Nordic, logical and service inventory from CROSS Network Intelligence, Geo-Spatial Analysis from Spatial Eye, and Diagnostics from Realworld. The attendees who visited all booths entered into a draw for a LEGO Wheel Dumper, with Glenn fom GlobalConnect being the lucky winner.

Glenn won the demo booth prize draw

‍

We would like to thank all participants, from customers and partners, for your attendance, engagement and enthusiasm throughout the conference. Many of those present expressed the good athmosphere and openness they experienced and appreciated. With this warm feedback in mind, we are already looking forward to the next SNUC in Oslo in early November 2027.
